Forest Essentials Facial Ubtan Soundarya | Indian Luxury Beauty Brand | Product Review

After my fantastic experience with Forest Essentials Tejasvi Ubtan and Narangi & Nagkesar Ubtan, both of which were instrumental in flaming my love for Forest Essentials brand and products, I had to try out the only left Ubtan in the range -Soundarya. So how could I leave it out? Here goes a review of the same :D

Forest Essentials Review

Available in Forest Essentials stores as well as website and also on Flipkart, Amazon, Jabong etc. at Rs. 775 for 50 gram.

Forest Essentials Soundarya Ubtan Review

Claims to provide soft & smooth skin with Ingredients such as Orange Peel Extract, Rose Flower Powder, Jasmine Flower Powder, Neem Leaf Powder, Sandalwood Oil, Saffron Flower Extract, Turmeric Extract, Lemon Peel Powder and so on. Packaging is typically elegant, classy, beautiful and sturdy like all Forest Essentials products with enough Quantity to last almost 1 and half months even when used every 3rd day :)

Natural Ayurveda for Beauty

Now in my experience Tejasvi Ubtan is the best for dry skin (thus I loved it the most when I used it during monsoons and winter on my skin when) while Narangi & Nagkesar is best for oily or combination-oily skin (thus my savior in summers!) but this Soundarya is actually a confusing product. I am not sure if it is better for dry or oily skin!

When I mix it with curd,it suits my skin but when I mix it with aloe vera or rose water it leaves my skin absolutely dry! When compared to the other 2 Ubtans that I used, this one didn't really provide any noticeable effects. It cleans, gives a little glow but that's it. Also, its texture is not as thick or coarse as the other 2 and it becomes quite watery in consistency which is not really my favorite. It does not have a particularly pleasing smell also which is weird since it has ingredients like Sandalwaood & Saffron. No lightening or even-toning was noticed either. After using Tejasvi & Narangi Ubtans I am not sure I would be coming back to Soundarya. Possibly it is suited to normal skin types and not on ultra weird like mine.

YES
  • Trust & Purity of Forest Essentials Brand
  • No allergies or breakouts even on ultra sensitive skin
  • Sturdy & Travel friendly packaging
  • Lasts a long time
  • Cleans very well and gives little glow
NO
  • Very watery consistency on mixing with curd/rosewater
  • Leaves my skin horribly dry if I mix it with anything other than curd/yogurt
  • Does nothing special other than imparting faint glow
  • Does not smell good as Tejasvi or Narangi Ubtans
  • Very expensive proposition as even a basic Sandalwood powder paste performs better on my skin
Recommended -NO! It might suit someone else's skin but I am positive it is not good for my skin and I will stick to my favorites Tejsasvi Ubtan as well as Narangi & Nagkesar Ubtan. Rating is 2/5 purely for its cleaning properties!

    1. I agree dear! It took me a long time to get onto the Forest Essentials bandwagon too! Now also I am not blindly trying out their products and rather taking a wait and watch approach with 1 product at a time :)
